Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they reported.
Officers then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state initial examinations show the liquid was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are currently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.
Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.
A senior representative stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
